Welcome to the Nimona Wiki![]

Nimona is a webcomic (2011-2014) that was later published in entirety as a single graphic novel (2015) and adapted into an audiobook by ND Stevenson. The movie adaptation with animation by DNEG, production by Annapurna Animation, and Netflix as distributor, premiered at the Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy/Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France at Theater Bonlieu on June 14, 2023, showed in select theaters starting on June 23, 2023, and released for general streaming on Netflix on June 30, 2023.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Graphic novel summary: "Nimona is an impulsive young shapeshifter with a knack for villainy. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta. As sidekick and supervillain, Nimona and Lord Blackheart are about to wreak some serious havoc. Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren't the heroes everyone thinks they are. Explosions will be involved. Science and sharks will be, too. But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona's powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit."[7]

Film summary: "When Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem — who also happens to be a shape-shifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona’s the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc — for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to… just wreak serious havoc

Directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, Nimona is an epic tale about finding friendship in the most surprising situations and accepting yourself and others for who they are."[6]
